The service aims are to ensure equality of opportunity and access to suitable educational provision for pupils from either a Traveller, Refugee, or asylum seeker background.

The service identifies and aids in the removal of barriers to education for Traveller and asylum seeker pupils by home/school liaison; raising cultural awareness and promoting anti racism through inset, training and provision of cultural resources.

COLT supports children's admission to school and provides in school support where appropriate, aimed at helping Traveller, Refugee’s and asylum seekers settle into class, relate to their peers and thereby enhance their attainment and achievement.
