Welcome to the Gifted and talented Strand pages of Tameside's Excellence Cluster!

Gifted and Talented within Tameside's Excellence Cluster

The strand currently operates in the 6 secondary and 13 primary schools which make up Tameside's Excellence Cluster.

The main elements of the gifted and talented strand are:

• Identification of gifted and talented pupils to make up a 5-10% cohort of each year group;
• Introduction of a whole school policy for the gifted and talented cohort;
• Implementation of a distinct teaching and learning programme for the gifted and talented cohort;
• Provision of a supportive programme of out of hours learning opportunities, delivered through a variety of providers.

Each Excellence Cluster School within the partnership has a Gifted and Talented Coordinator, who is responsible for gifted and talented provision within each school.
