BeCrypt Licences

ICT Support Services have now purchased licences for Becrypt for Schools which is compatible with XP, Vista and Windows 7.

There is a yearly subscription included in the installation of BeCrypt so; if a user were to mistype a username and password three times then the software will lock the user out of the laptop.  You will be prompted to enter a challenge code which we have on our system and the Service Desk will fix this problem over the phone.

Why encrypt my data?

Encryption is extremely important. Much of the data that exists today is sensitive and should be protected.  Such information such as pupil data without encryption could be stolen and used malevolently.

Data encryption will now become increasingly important for schools, and will become part of e-safety which would include encryption of school data.

BeCrypt security solutions are certified by the leading security assurance schemes, including CESG Assisted Products Scheme (CAPS), CCT Mark and the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS).
